Created in 1939 in the form of association law 1901, the Corporation of the Champagne Vine growers then perennializes these training courses with the size and the grafting, thanks to the collaboration of Dr. Emile MANCEAU, of Paul DAUVISSAT, engineer with the co. of Horticulture of Épernay and with the support of Raoul CHANDON and his House.
From 1939 to 1975, the Corporation of the Vine growers ensures the operation of the Wine Training college of Champagne whose direction is entrusted to Emile MOREAU. During this period, courses of size, grafting and mechanics, are jointly assumed by the agricultural teachers and the trainers - monitors of the Corporation.
From 1975 to our days, the role of the Corporation, remains on the base at the origin of its creation, (under the direction of Jean-Claude COIC since 1992), by:
the attribution of rewards officially decreed at the time of the annual employers' festival of the Corporation of the Vine growers, the Saint-Vincent:
- generally with the Vine growers (operating or paid) who can see themselves decreeing diplomas and medals according to their professional seniority: (Money: 20 years, Vermeil: 30 years, But: 35 years).
- exceptionally with other personalities having rendered eminent services at the Champagne wine community (diploma of honor, then large gold and money medals).
The examination of size which is carried out at the conclusion of one 52 hours total duration course (13 hours of oral examination and 39 hours of practice). Those are ensured by trainers - qualified approved by the Corporation, produced monitors, the evening for the theory and in general, saturdays for the practice, the registered candidates for in an individual capacity.
The examination of size of the Corporation is also opened to the pupils of various establishments of wine formation established out of Champagne: Training centre of Apprentices (Avize, the Bar-on-Seine), Agricultural Wine industry college and (Avize), Family home (Gionges).
The number of the candidates for this examination varies appreciably according to the years without never being lower than five hundreds to reach a thousand exceptionally.
The examination of mechanization sanctions a training exclusively given in the schools (Colleges, CFPPA, CFA, Family home). This diploma is delivered with the candidates having undergone successfully the three tests of agricultural mechanics, wine materials and workshop, controlled by the inspectors of the Corporation.
The contents of the formation evolve/move regularly for integrating the safety requirements, of environmental protection, realizable repairs and talks on the level of an exploitation, and the developments in the farming technologies.
The Corporation of the Champagne Vine growers organizes his community life and its management in perfect autonomy in the only objective of a voluntary service offered to any vine grower anxious to evaluate or make progress its knowledge and competences.
Its formations and examinations are officially recognized like qualification levels professional by the collective agreements of the Vine growers and the Country cottages.
